Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tbilisi: Armia (#3) and TSU (#7). Armia (13-3) smashed visiting TSU (6-11) by 64 points 109-45. The game without a history. Armia led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding TSU to just 7 points in third and fourth quarters. Armia dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to TSU's 36. Armia forced 21 TSU turnovers and outrebounded them 51-30 including a 39-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by TSU's players. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Lasha Parghalava (191-87, college: Montana St. - Billin) who scored 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international forward Irakli Sakvarelidze (201-86, college: Dominican, NY) chipped in 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Armia players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Serzhi Aselaini (198-91) who recorded 10 points and 6 rebounds and center Irakli Kobidze (208-90) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains third position with 13-3 record behind leader Olimpi. Loser TSU dropped to the eighth place with 11 games lost. Armia will meet at home Energy Invest (#4) in the next round. TSU's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tbilisi to the arena Samedicino-Academia.
