Regular Season Round 21: Boras II - Brahe Basket 77-64

Round 21 in Basketettan means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Boras where host Boras II (15-5) beat league's leader Brahe Basket (15-5) 77-64 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Brahe Basket. It was a key game for the top position in South. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Boras II's pressure prevailed and they won that period 21-12 extending their advantage to 13 points. The best player for the winners was guard Robin Ryan (193-87) who scored 15 points. Forward Mohamed Nefatti (196-84) chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds. Four Boras II players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Jamaican center Hugh Robinson (202-83) who recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and guard Tanju Yulman (186-90) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Boras II have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They keep a position of South leader, which they share with defeated Brahe Basket. Brahe Basket will play next round against Eskilstuna trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Boras II will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Malbas in Malmo.
