Energa Czarni (#6) forced the game against Anwil (#5) into an overtime, but lost by nine points 69-78 on Friday night. The hosts trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime then Energa Czarni managed to tie the game at the end of regular time. However that was Anwil who were better in overtime eventually winning that period 18-9. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Energa Czarni to just 5 points in second quarter. Anwil shot 24 for 36 from the free-throw line, while Energa Czarni only scored eight points from the stripe. Energa Czarni was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was naturalized Bosnian forward Seid Hajric (203-83) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. American swingman Marcus Ginyard (196-87, college: N.Carolina, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds. Anwil's coach Milija Bogicevic used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Bertengeh Gadri-Nicholson (208-83, college: Denver) who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points, 13 rebounds and 5 blocks and the other American import forward Roderick Trice (191-84, college: S.Carolina) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Anwil (16-9) moved-up to third place in Places 1-6, which they share with Stelmet ZG and Asseco Prok. Energa Czarni lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 12 games lost. Anwil will face league's leader Trefl Sopot on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Energa Czarni will play against the league's second-placed PGE Turow (#2) in Zgorzelec.
