There was no surprise when 10th ranked Trier (2-18) was outleveled at home by eighth ranked TG 1889 Sandhausen (10-10) 79-58 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by TG 1889 Sandhausen. Trier was better in third quarter 23-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Trier 47-29 including a 36-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. Quite impressive performance for Canadian center Matteke Hutzler (188) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 24 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). American guard Diamber Johnson (170-90, college: Mississippi St.) contributed with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four TG 1889 Sandhausen players scored in double figures. American swingman Robin Murphy (185, college: S.Mississippi) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and guard Sabrina Thomas (163) added 11 points and 4 steals in the effort for Trier. TG 1889 Sandhausen moved-up to sixth place in South, which they share with Wuerzburg and Bad Aibling. Trier lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 18 games lost.
