Regular Season Round 27: Souffel - Challans 68-44

There was no surprise in Souffel. where 14th ranked Vendee Challans (8-16) was crushed by third ranked Souffelweyersheim (17-7) 68-44 on Saturday. The game without a history. Souffelweyersheim led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They held Vendee Challans to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 48.2 percent accuracy of the winners. The best player for the winners was naturalized Chadian forward Jacques Alingue (201-88) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Jeremy Tschamber (192-84) chipped in 11 points and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Johan Rathieuville (177-85) who recorded 10 points and 4 steals and naturalized Mali swingman Mahmoud Diakite (197-86, college: Wyoming) added 10 points respectively. Vendee Challans' coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Souffelweyersheim maintains third place with 17-7 record having just one points less than leader Orchy. Loser Vendee Challans keeps the fourteenth position with 16 games lost. Souffelweyersheim will face Quimper UJAP (#6) on the road in the next round. Vendee Challans will play against Union Rennes (#15) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
