Capitanes de Arecibo paved their way into Liga Americas Final Four. They sneaked past Sao Jose/Unimed to stay in the title hunt. Vassallo chipped in 20 points to lead the charge. He accounted for a decisive bucket late in regulation that propelled the Puerto Rican team to the win. Sao Jose/Unimed dominated in the opening quarter. The Brazilian team surged ahead for a 20:12 lead into the second stanza. But Capitanes stopped the bleeding in the second frame. The Puerto Ricans pulled within 2 points at halftime 33:35. Capitanes denied the deficit in the third quarter. The teams entered the fourth period tied at 57. Vassallo came up strong in the dying stages of the game. He fired 7 points in the key moments and sealed the win at the end. Graham had 16 points and 11 boards, while Peter John Ramos added 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winning team. Murilo Becker responded with 23 points and 10 rebounds for Sao Jose/Unimed. Stefanelli chipped in 15 points in defeat.
