Regular Season Round 54: BC Odessa - Azovmash 66-69

Twelfth-ranked BC Odessa (14-25) used its home court advantage to challenge third ranked Azovmash (25-14) on Friday. The visitors from Mariupol managed to secure only three-point victory 69-66. However their fans expected much easier game. BC Odessa was trailing by 7 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 16-10 charge of Azovmash, which allowed them to win the game. It was a good game for Lithuanian forward Simonas Serapinas (197-82) who led his team to a victory with 22 points and 8 rebounds. American point guard Lynn Greer (186-79, college: Temple) contributed with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. American guard Justin Love (189-78, college: St.Louis) replied with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and Latvian center Kaspars Cipruss (210-82) added 15 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) in the effort for BC Odessa. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. BC Odessa's coach Oleg Yushkin tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Azovmash have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Ferro-ZNTU. BC Odessa lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with 25 games lost.
