Regular Season Round 47: Kyoto Hannar. - Chiba Jets 70-73

A very close game took place in Kyoto between Chiba Jets and Kyoto Hannar.. Sixth ranked Chiba Jets (23-20) got a very close victory on the road over 6th ranked Kyoto Hannar. (23-20). Chiba Jets managed to escape with a 3-point win 73-70 in the fight for the fifth place. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Kyoto Hannar.. The guests trailed by 9 points at the halftime before their 24-10 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great evening for American power forward Marquis Gray (206-86, college: Michigan St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import forward Marquin Chandler (202-82, college: San Jose St.) helped adding 24 points and 5 rebounds. Four Chiba Jets players scored in double figures. American-Panamanian forward Leonardo Pomare (203-86, college: San Diego) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and American center Marcus Cousin (211-86, college: Houston) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds. Kyoto Hannar.'s coach Honoo Hamaguchi rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Chiba Jets have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with defeated Kyoto Hannar. Chiba Jets will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kyoto Hannar. will play against Osaka Evessa (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
