Regular Season Round 24: Turk Telekom - Gaziantep 67-90
Date: March 30, 2013
Rather predictable result when eleventh ranked Gaziantep (9-15) rolled over 13th ranked Turk Telekom (7-17) in Ankara 90-67 on Saturday. The game without a history. Gaziantep led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Gaziantep outrebounded Turk Telekom 37-22 including a 29-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The winners were led by American power forward Joey Dorsey (206-83, college: Memphis, agency: FCM) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 22 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!) and the other American import point guard Andre Collins (183-82, college: Loyola, MD) supported him with 18 points and 7 assists. Even 15 points by Slovenian power forward Miha Zupan (205-82) did not help to save the game for Turk Telekom. American point guard Dee Brown (185-84, college: Illinois, agency: Priority Sports) added 11 points and 4 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gaziantep moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Aliaga and Erdemir. Loser Turk Telekom dropped to the twelfth position with 17 games lost. They share it with Mersin. Gaziantep will meet at home higher ranked Banvit BK (#4) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Turk Telekom will play against Erdemir (#9) and hope to secure a win.
