Regular Season Round 30: Selcuk Univ. - Istanbul B.B. 99-66
Date: March 30, 2013
No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Selcuk Universitesi (20-10) crushed 11th ranked Istanbul B.B. (13-17) in Konya 99-66. The game was mostly controlled by Selcuk Universitesi. Istanbul B.B. was better in second period 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Istanbul B.B. 46-25 including a 35-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Selcuk Universitesi players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Istanbul B.B.'s players. The best player for the winners was American Bill Clark (195-88, college: Duquesne) who scored 22 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). The other American import point guard Jeremy Granger (185-90, college: E.Illinois) chipped in 21 points. At the other side the best for losing team was Metecan Birsen (205-95) who recorded 15 points and 5 rebounds and guard Dogan Yavuz (196-91) added 8 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Selcuk Universitesi moved-up to third place, which they share with Trabzonspor and Maliye Milli. Istanbul B.B. at the other side keeps the eleventh position with 17 games lost. Selcuk Universitesi's next round opponent will be Vestel (#9) in Manisa where they are favorite. Istanbul B.B. will play at home against Gelisim in Izmir and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
