Penarol overcame Quimsa to take 2-0 lead in the series. It looked good early as Quimsa took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Penarol had a 20-8 second period charge getting the lead and Quimsa was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 67-70. Quimsa was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. International power forward Leonardo Gutierrez (201-78) scored 24 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international center Martin Leiva (209-80) chipped in 10 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Four Penarol players scored in double figures. Penarol's coach Sergio Hernandez allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The former international power forward Diego Lo Grippo (198-78) responded with 18 points and American guard Jimmy Baxter (198-80, college: S.Florida, agency: Three Eye Sports) scored 20 points.
