Quarter-Finals Round 2: Lanus - Atenas 70-68

Lanus narrowly defeated Atenas to gain 2-0 lead in the quarterfinal series. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 22-18. But Atenas won second period 15-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 30 personal fouls committed by Atenas helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Naturalized Italian swingman Adrian Boccia (195-82) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). American center Robert Battle (204-81, college: Drexel, agency: Dream Team Management) contributed with 8 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. The former international guard Javier Bulfoni (192-76) replied with 24 points (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) and American center Djibril Kante (205-80, college: Indiana St.) added 11 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Atenas. Atenas' coach Alejandro Lotterio rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
