Very predictable result when third ranked Armia (14-5) smashed on the road 9th ranked Batumi (5-14) 88-61 on Friday. They outrebounded Batumi 56-29 including a 37-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was center Giorgi Sharabidze (210-90) who scored 8 points and 13 rebounds. Center Vakhtang Minashvili (200-78) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds. Armia's coach Kote Tugushi felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international forward Lasha Keshelava (200-81) who recorded 13 points and 9 rebounds and forward Avtandil Eliashvili (200-89) added 13 points, 7 rebounds and 6 blocks respectively. Defending champion maintains third place with 14-5 record having just two points less than leader Olimpi. Loser Batumi keeps the ninth position with 14 games lost. Armia's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tbilisi to the arena Olimpi.
