The game between closely ranked teams ended with first ranked PGE Turow's (20-9) home victory over their biggest opponent Anwil (18-11) in Zgorzelec 74-63 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by PGE Turow. Anwil was better in fourth quarter 24-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. PGE Turow looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Anwil's players. It was a very good performance for American-Guinean point guard Russell Robinson (185-86) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 7 assists. Bosnian-Croatian Ivan Opacak (201-80, agency: INVICTUS Sports Group) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Four PGE Turow players scored in double figures. The former international point guard Krzysztof Szubarga (182-84) answered with 20 points and 5 steals and American swingman Marcus Ginyard (196-87, college: N.Carolina, agency: Interperformances) added 16 points in the effort for Anwil. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. PGE Turow maintains first place in Places 1-6 with 20-9 record. Loser Anwil dropped to the third position with 11 games lost. PGE Turow will face Asseco Prok. (#5) in Gdynia in the next round. Anwil will play on the road against Energa Czarni in Slupsk.
