An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Bamberg. First ranked Brose Bask. faced 3rd placed ratiopharm Ulm. Host Brose Bask. (23-6) smashed guests from Ulm (19-10) 108-75. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of ratiopharm Ulm. The game without a history. Brose Bask. led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot the lights out from three nailing 17 long-distance shots on high 58.6 percentage. Brose Bask. players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by ratiopharm Ulm's players. ratiopharm Ulm was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Slovenian Bostjan Nachbar (207-80) who helped to win the game recording 22 points (perfect behind the arc making all five shots). Naturalized Slovakian point guard Anton Gavel (188-84, agency: Pro One Sports) contributed with 19 points for the winners. American center John Bryant (208-87, college: Santa Clara) answered with 11 points and 7 rebounds and international point guard Per Guenther (185-88) added 10 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for ratiopharm Ulm. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains first place with 23-6 record. ratiopharm Ulm at the other side keeps the third position with ten games lost. Brose Bask. will play against BBC Bayreuth (#16) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. ratiopharm Ulm will play against Artland Dragons (#7) in Quakenbrueck and hopes to get back on the winning track.
