Twelfth-ranked Naturhouse Ferrara (13-17) gave a tough game to second ranked Matera (20-10). The visitors from Matera managed to secure only two-point victory 93-91. However their fans expected much easier game. Naturhouse Ferrara was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Naturalized Argentinian guard Carlos Sebastian Vico (190-86, agency: Players Group) nailed 25 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side and the former international power forward Massimo Rezzano (203-82) accounted for 12 points and 14 rebounds. Power forward Michele Benfatto (205-85) came up with 20 points and 9 rebounds and forward Giulio Gazzotti (202-91) added 17 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Naturhouse Ferrara in the defeat. Four Matera and five Naturhouse Ferrara players scored in double figures. Matera maintains second place with 20-10 record having just three points less than leader Torino. Newly promoted Naturhouse Ferrara keeps the twelfth position with 17 games lost. They share it with Chieti and Recanati. Matera will play against Casalpusterlengo (#4) at home in the next round. Naturhouse Ferrara will play against Agrigento (#5) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
