It looked good early as Craiova took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Gaz Metan had a 21-14 second period charge getting the lead and Craiova was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 64-78. They outrebounded Craiova 43-25 including 16 on the offensive glass. Montenegrin-Serbian forward Ivan Ivanovic (205-80, agency: Beo Basket) stepped up and scored 22 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and American forward Deven Mitchell (197-84, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds. Four Gaz Metan players scored in double figures. Gaz Metan's coach Marcel Tenter allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side Serbian guard Rade Dzambic (188-80, college: NYIT, agency: TSS Management) responded with 21 points and American guard Travis Bureau (200-88, college: La-Lafayette, agency: SDJ Sports) scored 11 points and 6 rebounds.
