Second Stage Round 9: Kormend - Jaszberenyi 89-70

The game in Kormend was also worth to mention about. 4th placed Jaszberenyi (16-15) played at the court of fifth ranked Kormend (13-18). Kormend did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 89-70. It looked good early as Jaszberenyi took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Kormend had a 26-12 second period charge getting the lead and Jaszberenyi was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 70-89. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Csaba Ferencz (195-85, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) who scored 27 points. American forward Kyle Austin (203-88, college: Cal-Riverside) chipped in 23 points and 5 rebounds. Kormend's coach Tamas Hencsey allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian swingman Milos Markovic (201-84) who recorded 10 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and Serbian guard Miljan Rakic (195-86, agency: BeoExcell) added 12 points and 6 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Kormend maintains fifth place in Division with 13-18 record. Jaszberenyi at the other side keeps the fourth position with 15 games lost. Kormend's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Atomeromu in Paks and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Jaszberenyi will play on the road against Kaposvari and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
