Finals Game 2: Stjarnan - Grindavik 93-56
Date: April 19, 2013
Stjarnan shot down Grindavik to level things up in the title series. The game without a history. Stjarnan led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 24-of-30 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Stjarnan outrebounded Grindavik 49-37 including a 37-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Stjarnan made 8 blocks. 24 personal fouls committed by Grindavik helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Naturalized American guard Justin Shouse (180-81, college: Mercyhurst) had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) to lead the charge for the winners and American swingman Jarrid Frye (194-85, college: Sacred Heart) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Stjarnan players scored in double figures. American point guard Sammy Zeglinski (182-88, college: Virginia) responded with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import forward Aaron Broussard (195-90, college: Seattle) scored 20 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
