There was no surprise in Oldenburg where 9th ranked Telekom Baskets (16-15) were defeated by second ranked EWE Baskets (24-9) 84-74 on Saturday. EWE Baskets looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. Power forward Adam Chubb (208-81, college: Pennsylvania, agency: Pro One Sports) stepped up and scored 22 points and 5 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) for the winners and guard Chris Kramer (191-88, college: Purdue) chipped in 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. EWE Baskets' coach Sebastian Machowski used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was forward Kyle Weems (198-89, college: Missouri St.) with 24 points and 7 rebounds and forward Jamel McLean (203-88, college: Xavier) scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. EWE Baskets maintains second place with 24-9 record behind leader Brose Bask. Loser Telekom Baskets keep the ninth position with 15 games lost. EWE Baskets will face bottom-ranked LTi 46ers (#18) in Giessen in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Telekom Baskets will play at home against Bayern Muenchen (#4).
