We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when second-best Pelister Bitola (3-14) was defeated at home by third ranked Vardar (3-14) 81-76 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 28-21 charge, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was Serbian point guard Vladimir Gajovic (182-87) who scored 25 points and 5 rebounds. Serbian forward Zarko Djuric (198-89) chipped in 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Vardar's coach Branko Andrievski used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian center Aleksandar Kalanj (208-86) who recorded a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and Serbian power forward Balas Sanjin (204-89) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Vardar maintains third position in Liga with 3-14 record having fifteen points less than leader Kozuv. Vardar will have a break next round. Pelister Bitola will play on the road against the league's leader ABA Strumica and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
