Regular Season Round 28: Cholet - Chalon 79-78

Important game to mention about took place in Cholet. Tenth ranked Cholet (14-14) saved a 1-point victory at home edging much higher ranked Chalon/Saor (18-10) 79-78 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. The hosts were ahead by 3 points but lost the second period ending it with a 3-point deficit before their 22-18 run, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Chalon/Saor outrebounded Cholet 32-20 including 22 on the defensive glass. American players dominated the game. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard A.J. Slaughter (191-87, college: W.Kentucky) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 5 assists and forward Marcus Goree (201-77, college: W.Virginia) who added 13 points during the contest. At the losing side swingman Blake Schilb (200-83, college: Loyola, IL, agency: Z.A.G. - Law Offices) responded with 24 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists and guard Marcus Denmon (190-90, college: Missouri) scored 22 points. Cholet have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Dijon and Orleans. Defending champion Chalon/Saor keeps the second position with ten games lost. Cholet will play against Entente Orleans 45 (#8) at home in the next round. Chalon/Saor will play against STB Le Havre (#12) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
