Finals Game 1: Keflavik - KR 70-52

Keflavik earned the first win in the Express League Finals. They held off visiting KR in the opener. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Keflavik forced 22 KR turnovers. American guard Jessica Jenkins (172-90, college: St.Bonaventure) stepped up and scored 23 points for the winners and the former international forward Bryndis Gudmundsdottir (178-88) chipped in 8 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. At the losing side American guard Shannon McCallum (177-87, college: Charlotte) responded with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds and guard Gudrun Thorsteinsdottir (178-89) scored 6 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
