There was no surprise when 13th ranked Naturhouse Ferrara (13-18) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Agrigento (18-14) 70-59 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Agrigento. Naturhouse Ferrara was better in fourth quarter 12-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Agrigento dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Naturhouse Ferrara's 28. Agrigento forced 21 Naturhouse Ferrara turnovers. The former international center Roberto Chiacig (210-74) fired 15 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Guard Vincenzo Di Viccaro (191-84) chipped in 16 points. Agrigento's coach Franco Ciani used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Power forward Michele Benfatto (205-85) produced 13 points and 9 rebounds and guard Michele Ferri (191-85) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Agrigento moved-up to fifth place. Naturhouse Ferrara lost third consecutive game. Naturhouse Ferrara at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the fourteenth position with 18 games lost. Agrigento will face Treviglio (#8) on the road in the next round. Naturhouse Ferrara will play against the league's leader Torino (#1).
