Sao Jose/Unimed overcame Minas away from home to secure the quarterfinal appearance. The game was mostly controlled by Sao Jose/Vinac. Minas was better in second period 19-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 22-of-26 charity shots (84.6 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international power forward Murilo Becker (210-83) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds. The former international power forward Jefferson Antonio (207-83) contributed with 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Sao Jose/Vinac players scored in double figures. Sao Jose/Vinac's coach Regis Marrelli allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The former international swingman Betinho Nardi Duarte (195-88) replied with 16 points and 6 rebounds and American guard Jermaine Beal (191-87, college: Vanderbilt) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Minas.
