1/8 Finals Round 3: Memphis G. - LA Clippers 94-82

Date: April 25, 2013
This is Memphis Grizzlies basketball. This is the grinding, physical style that has come to define the NBA's best defense. This is what was missing entirely in Game 1, what came up short on the final possession of Game 2. The Los Angeles Clippers had their chance to seal the series. The Grizzlies forcibly ripped it away. Zach Randolph had 27 points and 11 rebounds as Memphis won 94-82 Thursday night to cut their first-round NBA playoff series deficit to 2-1. The Grizzlies did it with rebounding and toughness and ugly basketball. They did it by controlling the paint and the pace. The Clippers needed this win to command the series. Memphis went 32-9 at home, same as Los Angeles, and the series everyone expected to go seven games now appears back on track to do just that. All-Star point guard Chris Paul was uncharacteristically silent, finishing with eight points, six rebounds and four assists while tacking on five turnovers. Grizzlies point guard Mike Conley came up with 10 assists, three steals and two blocks to overcome his 1-for-9 shooting. And Defensive Player of the Year Marc Gasol showed off his offensive prowess as well, finishing with 16 points and eight rebounds. Courtesy of: usatoday.com
