BC Vienna held off Kapfenberf Bulls in the opener. Kapfenberg Bulls were ahead by 4 points after three quarters before a 17-11 charge of BC Vienna, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Shawn Ray (194-80, college: N.C.Central) who helped to win the game recording 19 points. The former international point guard Benedikt Danek (176-86) contributed with 9 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. American-Mexican forward Mark Sanchez (201-87, college: Boise St., agency: Court Side) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and American forward Joe Dean Shaw (199-87, college: Nevada) added 14 points in the effort for Kapfenberg Bulls.
