Regular Season Round 17: Nogales - Navolato 86-87

Important game to mention about took place in Nogales. Sixth ranked Garra Canera de Navolato (7-8) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 3rd placed Fuerza Guinda Nogales (7-8) 87-86 in the fight for the third place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Fuerza Guinda Nogales. The guests were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. American guard Marcus Elliott (191-84, college: Louisiana Tech) stepped up and scored 25 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and Froilan Verdugo (-79) chipped in 24 points. American swingman O'Louis McCullough (198-82, college: Francis Marion) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists and Bahamas power forward Ryan Moss (200-74, college: UALR) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks. Five Fuerza Guinda Nogales players scored in double figures. Garra Canera de Navolato moved-up to third place, which they share with Nogales and Cananea. Garra Canera de Navolato will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Fuerza Guinda Nogales will play again at home against Garra Canera de Navolato and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
