Pinheiros/Sky survived double-overtime thriller to upset Uberlandia away from home. Uberlandia trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 28-15 run in the last quarter tied the game at the end of regular time, But then they lost eventually double-overtime period 11-11. Pinheiros made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Uberlandia was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was naturalized American Shamell Stallworth (195-80, college: USF, agency: Interperformances) who scored 24 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. The former international power forward Mineiro Ferreira (208-88) chipped in 24 points and 9 rebounds. American forward Robert Day (197-82, college: W.Oregon) produced 39 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import guard Robby Collum (185-81, college: W.Michigan) added 14 points, 9 rebounds and 11 assists respectively for the hosts. Five Pinheiros and four Uberlandia players scored in double figures.
