Pinheiros/Sky came up strong in the second half to stun Uberlandia. Uberlandia was ahead by 1 point at the halftime before a 53-31 second half run of Pinheiros. They shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. It was a good game for American Joe Smith (192-77, college: Al.-Huntsville) who led his team to a victory with 32 points and 5 assists (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field). The former international center Bruno Fiorotto (208-84) contributed with 12 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Pinheiros' coach Claudio Mortari felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international forward Luis Felipe Gruber (205-85) answered with 16 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Robby Collum (185-81, college: W.Michigan) added 14 points in the effort for Uberlandia.
