The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 27-15. But Hapoel Tel-Aviv won second period 18-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Hapoel Tel-Aviv 37-26 including 25 on the defensive glass. The game was dominated by American players. point guard Ricky Hickman (189-85, college: NC-Greensboro) stepped up and scored 23 points (made all of his nine free throws !!!) for the winners and swingman Devin Smith (196-83, college: Virginia) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. Maccabi T-A's coach David Blatt used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side point guard Demontez Stitt (186-89, college: Clemson) responded with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Anthony Goods (191-87, college: Stanford) scored 20 points.
