Brescia eased past Forli in the quarterfinal series opener. The game was mostly controlled by C.de Latte BRE. LeGamberi Foods Forli was better in second period 31-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. C.de Latte BRE dominated on the defensive end, holding LeGamberi Foods Forli to just 7 points in fourth quarter. They outrebounded LeGamberi Foods Forli 47-32 including 17 on the offensive glass. LeGamberi Foods Forli was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. American players dominated the game. Guard Michael Jenkins (191-86, college: Winthrop) stepped up and scored 21 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and swingman J.R. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
