Quarter-Finals Round 2: Niigata Albirex - Akita NH 88-58
Date: May 12, 2013
The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 88-58. Niigata Albirex outrebounded Akita Happinets 45-25 including a 31-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. American players dominated the game. Center Chris Holm (212-84, college: Vermont) notched a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds to lead the effort and guard Nile Murry (193-83, college: TCU) supported him with 12 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Niigata Albirex players scored in double figures. Even 9 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists by forward Marshall Brown (199-85, college: Missouri) did not help to save the game for Akita Happinets. Guard Dion Harris (190-85, college: Michigan) added 18 points for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
