Sao Jose/Unimed held off Flamengo to take 1-0 lead in the semifinal series. Flamengo was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 28-17 charge of Sao Jose/Vinac, which allowed them to win the game.
