Flamengo bettered Sao Jose/Unimed at home court to take 2-1 lead in the best-of-five semifinal series. The game without a history. Flamengo led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 18-of-22 charity shots (81.8 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Flamengo especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. Sao Jose/Vinac was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for the former international center Caio Silveira (211-87, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. The former international Olivinha Rodriguez (202-83) contributed with 18 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. The former international power forward Murilo Becker (210-83) answered with 20 points and 6 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) and the former international point guard Fulvio de Assis (186-81) added 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks in the effort for Sao Jose/Vinac. Five Flamengo and four Sao Jose/Vinac players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
