The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Hapoel Eilat won third quarter 19-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Hapoel Eilat 43-22 including a 22-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Maccabi Rishon brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Hapoel Eilat was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Jamaican-American power forward Adrian Uter (200-84, college: Hofstra) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 blocks. American forward Julian Wright (203-87, college: Kansas) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. American power forward Eli Holman (208-89, college: Detroit Mercy) replied with 12 points and 9 rebounds and the former international point guard Afik Nissim (186-81) added 13 points, 5 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Hapoel Eilat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.
