Sao Jose/Unimed held off visiting Flamengo to force the decisive fifth game of the semifinal series. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 30-19. But Flamengo won third quarter 32-24. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Sao Jose/Vinac looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Flamengo's players.
