Andorra snatched a narrow home win over Lucentum in the Finals opener. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 22-17. But Meridiano Alicante won second period 23-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. River Andorra made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by Meridiano Alicante helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Marc Blanch (194-82) who helped to win the game recording 23 points (made all of his seven free throws). Naturalized Russian power forward Dmitry Flis (203-84) contributed with 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Guard Alex Llorca (192-89) answered with 14 points and American forward Shaun Green (203-87, college: Utah) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Meridiano Alicante. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game.
