Quarter-Finals Round 1: Real Madrid - Blusens M. 90-75

Real Madrid cruised past Blusens Monbus to open win count in the quarterfinal series. It looked good early as Blusens Monbus took an 3-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Real Madrid had a 28-11 second period charge getting the lead and Blusens Monbus was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 75-90. Real Madrid made 26-of-30 charity shots (86.7 percent) during the game. Blusens Monbus was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of international Rudy Fernandez (198-85) who helped to win the game recording 17 points (made all of his ten free throws !!!). The former international point guard Sergio Rodriguez (191-86) contributed with 15 points and 5 assists for the winners. Canadian-Irish forward Levon Kendall (209-84, college: Pittsburgh) answered with 14 points and 8 rebounds and Tunisian center Salah Mejri (217-86) added 15 points in the effort for Blusens Monbus. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
