Semi-Finals Game 3: Cantu - Acea Virtus RM 81-73

Cantu opened win count in the series as they held off visiting Acea Virtus Roma. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 20-14. But Lottomatica Roma won second period 18-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Cantu made 22-of-27 charity shots (81.5 percent) during the game. Cantu outrebounded Lottomatica Roma 45-26 including a 32-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Lottomatica Roma was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American-Israeli center Alex Tyus (205-88, college: Florida) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. The former international Pietro Aradori (195-88) helped adding 19 points and 8 rebounds. Cantu's coach Andrea Trinchieri allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was American guard Phil Goss (186-83, college: Drexel) with 19 points and international forward Luigi Datome (203-87) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds.
