The game was mostly controlled by Panathinaikos. Panionios managed to win fourth quarter 16-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Panathinaikos forced 19 Panionios turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Panathinaikos especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American guard Ramel Curry (192-80, college: CSU Bakersfield) stepped up and scored 14 points and 5 assists for the winners and the former international guard Dimitris Diamantidis (196-80) chipped in 11 points and 8 assists. Four Panathinaikos players scored in double figures. At the losing side the former international guard Nikos Pappas (195-90, agency: FCM) responded with 14 points and American Mark Payne (202-88, college: Cal-Davis) scored 11 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
