Hermosillo held off Obregon to secure the opening victory in the playoffs. It looked good early as Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Rayos de Hermosillo had a 19-17 second period charge getting the lead and Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 66-74. Rayos de Hermosillo made 19-of-22 charity shots (86.4 percent) during the game. Americans were the main players on the court. Forward Emmanuel Little (196-85, college: N.Dakota) nailed 26 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and forward Kyle Spain (196-87, college: San Diego St.) accounted for 8 points and 8 rebounds. Little is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Kenny Jones (198-84, college: Kentucky St., agency: Dream Team Management) came up with 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Nate Carter (201-83, college: Oklahoma, agency: Fusion Sports) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
