The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Hapoel Eilat won fourth quarter 27-25. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American Donta Smith (201-83, college: SE Illinois JC) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. American-Greek swingman Pat Calathes (208-85, college: St.Joseph's) contributed with 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American guard Larry O'Bannon (194-83, college: Louisville, agency: Interperformances) answered with 21 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import power forward Eli Holman (208-89, college: Detroit Mercy) added 16 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Hapoel Eilat. Four Hapoel Eilat players scored in double figures.
