Finals Game 1: Acea Virtus RM - Montepaschi 76-85

Date: June 11, 2013
Montepaschi Siena registered the opening win in the Finals. They upset Acea Virtus Roma in the capital tonight. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 20-17. But Lottomatica Roma won second period 17-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely Lottomatica Roma outrebounded Montepaschi Siena 37-25 including 23 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international point guard Daniel Hackett (200-87, college: USC, agency: Two Points) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 assists. American forward David Moss (196-83, college: Indiana St., agency: SportsTalent) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Montepaschi Siena's coach Luca Banchi used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American-Nigerian power forward Gani Lawal (205-88, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Three Eye Sports) answered with 17 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Phil Goss (186-83, college: Drexel) added 16 points and 4 assists in the effort for Lottomatica Roma.
