Semi-Finals Game 2: Hermosillo - Cananea 89-88

Hermosillo narrowly defeated Cananea to earn 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series. Mineros de Cananea cut a 19-point halftime deficit to one at the end of the game. Rayos de Hermosillo made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Rayos de Hermosillo outrebounded Mineros de Cananea 42-31 including 18 on the offensive glass. The former international forward Jesus Lopez (205-83, college: SW Baptist) had a double-double by scoring 25 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Kyle Spain (196-87, college: San Diego St.) chipped in 14 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Naturalized American forward Quentin Gonzalez (200-84, college: McNeese St.) responded with 29 points and 8 rebounds and American forward Kyle Austin (203-88, college: Cal-Riverside) scored 23 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.
