Tijuana used overtime to finally tame Navolato taking 2-0 lead in the semifinal series. The guests trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 31-17 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 17-15. Tijuana Zonkeys made 22-of-25 free shots (88.0 percent) during the game. American forward James Penny (198-76, college: TCU) had a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Jamaican forward Mugabe Thomas (193-80, college: Cedarville) chipped in 17 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. American guard Marcus Elliott (191-84, college: Louisiana Tech) responded with 26 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and the former international forward Jesus Gonzalez (195-86) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures.
