Semi-Finals Game 3: Cananea - Hermosillo 91-87

Date: June 17, 2013
Cananea opened win count in the semifinal series versus Hermosillo. The hosts trailed by 7 points after three quarters before their 26-15 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Rayos de Hermosillo outrebounded Mineros de Cananea 37-19 including 24 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Mineros de Cananea made 7 blocks. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a great evening for swingman Rene Rougeau (198-86, college: UNLV, agency: ProSportsCareers) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Forward Kyle Austin (203-88, college: Cal-Riverside) helped adding 29 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). The best for the losing side was forward Kyle Spain (196-87, college: San Diego St.) with 18 points and 8 rebounds and forward Patrick Sanders (198-85, college: Cal-Irvine) scored 20 points and 5 rebounds. Four Rayos de Hermosillo players scored in double figures. Rayos de Hermosillo's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
