Semi-Finals Game 5: Cananea - Hermosillo 75-86

Hermosillo outgunned Cananea to clinch 4-1 win in the series and became the first CIBACOPA finalists. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 86-75. Rayos de Hermosillo outrebounded Mineros de Cananea 37-24 including 25 on the defensive glass. American forward Emmanuel Little (196-85, college: N.Dakota) stepped up and scored 11 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and the former international forward Jesus Lopez (205-83, college: SW Baptist) chipped in 9 points and 9 rebounds. Little is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Rayos de Hermosillo players scored in double figures. Rayos de Hermosillo's coach Dan Tacheny used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American swingman Rene Rougeau (198-86, college: UNLV, agency: ProSportsCareers) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists and naturalized American forward Quentin Gonzalez (200-84, college: McNeese St.) scored 20 points.
