Puerto Rico claimed the third consecutive victory at the FIBA Americas Championship. They outgunned Uruguay to remain on top of Group A. Alexander Galindo and Carlos Arroyo finished with 19 points each for Puerto Rico. They started the game aggressively. Puerto Rico unleashed 29 points in the first ten minutes to build an 11-point lead. Puerto Rico dominated throughout the second frame. They registered a 52:32 halftime advantage. Uruguay could not match their opponents in the third term. Puerto Rico secured a comfortable 23-point lead at the final break. Puerto Rico eased to the victory in the final stanza. Renaldo Balkman chipped in 18 points, while Daniel Santiago added 10 points in the victory. Leandro Garcia Morales answered with 17 points for Uruguay. Mathias Calfani had 14 points in the defeat.
