Preliminary Round Day 4: URUGUAY - BRAZIL 79-73

Uruguay earned the second victory at the FIBA Americas Championship in Caracas. They held off Brazil for 2-1 record in Group A. Esteban Batista notched 22 points and 13 boards to pace the winners. Uruguay clinched a 17:15 lead after the opening quarter. They maintained the lead throughout the second term. Uruguay ensured a 36:33 halftime lead. Brazil struggled to take over in the third term. Uruguay stayed in charge entering the fourth stanza up by 6 points 56:50. Uruguay and Brazil exchanged baskets throughout the fourth frame. Uruguay held on to their lead and claimed an important victory at the end. Leandro Garcia Morales chipped in 16 points, while Nicolas Mazzarino had 14 points for Uruguay. Guilherme Giovannoni answered with 20 points. Caio Silveira had 12 points in the third straight loss for Brazil.
